This is the way the world ends...

The covenant between God and Lucifer was a simple one; neither would interfere or influence humanity\'s evolution on Earth. Naturally, Lucifer never kept his end of the bargain. Our story concentrates on an alternate Earth, where steam technology (thanks to the discovery of a fuel source known as \"aether\") won out over petroleum during the Industrial Revolution. On this planet, a group of Angels decide that Lucifer\'s flagrant breach of the covenant has gone on for far too long. They take matters into their own hands, and break the covenant themselves. With God unable by agreement to do anything about it, how can humanity hope to keep free will in the face of dogma manifested?
