My name is Jops, writer and artist ready to start a new comic series: Tales of the Red Shark
It occurred to me that, when on the same wave-length, two brains work better than one, I'm looking for a co-author to partner with.
More specifically, I'm looking for someone who will:
- Assist in drawing and inking pages based on provided scripts, storyboards and reference material.
- Proofread and provide feedback on script and dialogues.
- Brainstorm and develop ideas for characters and scenarios which are not in contrast with setting, themes and pre-existing cast.
Being able to ink digitally (or pencil clean lines) would be the main asset, as that's where my skills feel weak. Even better if you're good ad drawing characters with different body shapes.
On the other hand, I wouldn't worry too much if you're not as good at vehicles, guns and mechanical parts: that's actually my territory. ^^
Also, digital coloring is something I'm getting more and more comfortable with, so I'm planning to cover the colorist role.
ABOUT THE COMIC
Tales of the Red Shark consists in 3 episodes of Indiana-Jones-Style adventures (that means action and loads of irony) featuring a pilot/treasure-hunter (Dinian) and a sort of errant knight (Mikayla) in their rather bizarre universe. A universe that could be best described as a magical fantasy world blending with modern, steampunk and sci-fi elements. All that with a retro/vintage feel to it.
This basically means there will be enchanted swords, dragons and castles along with neon lights, cars, guns and robots.
Hopefully the image above can do a good job in describing what i mean (and also show my art-style and coloring).
Given the bizarre nature of the comic's universe, be prepared to draw a bit of everything.
The 3 episodes will be the equivalent of a full book each, so it's definitely going to be a long term project. I'm considering to ease up the workload by updating one-page per week, although this is all open for discussion.
First thing we need to see is if we can develop synergy and work well together. This means that my art can combine with yours without resulting into an eyesore and that your ideas and suggestions on the narrative front match with the spirit, style and atmosphere of comic (this is one aspect I've already defined).
I'll provide scripts, sketches, storyboards, reference material (i.e. photos of buildings, landscapes, vehicles...), as well as color and, if necessary, drawing some elements. Feedback and criticism is bound to happen. Rest assured that, if i'm in disagreement, i'll elaborate and explain why and will always try to point a way for improvement. Of course, I expect this to work both ways and definitely looking forward to hear your own feedback.

Thanks in advance to anyone interested. ^^
