Hello all, I'm posting a link to my web comic, "My World and Welcome To It.", which is featured on my blog, The Blabbing Baboon
I've been writing and drawing this daily for four years. It's an auto-bio comic that's at times funny, and other times, well, life can be cruel you know.

I'd appreciate it if you could check it out and if you could, give some feedback. I really enjoy writing and drawing it and would hope others would enjoy reading it as well.

But, we don't live in a vacuum and any type of feedback could be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forum Smile

I like your art style. Black and white can sometimes be boring but your drawings are detailed enough that it isn't.

Considering you've been doing this for four years, I'm not sure what your motivation for seeking feedback is. Are you looking for ways to raise your readership numbers or simply engage in the community, etc?

If it's the former, one thing I have to say is that your comic is very intellectual and personal. That's not a bad thing at all (I like cleverness) but it's typically not the kind of comics that will attract a large following in my experience.

One thing I notice is the amount of text. It doesn't bother me, in fact your writing is clever but the younger generations may be put off by that.

The only thing I can really comment about is the website format. I don't usually like to have to scroll and scroll to reach older posts and them being organized in pages with multiple comics on them makes navigation difficult. The typical format for webcomics is one comic a page with helpful first/previous/next/last buttons. Classic but it works well Smile

That's it from me Smile great job so far !

the art is really good, so is the lettering (very legible+good kerning). Compositionally, it's a bit dense and doesn't hook my eye... but not really problematic, probably a question of taste.
Reminds me of Subnormality http://www.viruscomix.com/subnormality.html recommend you check it out, similar style to yours and master of integrating walls of text.
Hate the mouse-over banner at the top of the website Razz

JFD: Thanks very much for your feedback. I agree 100% with you on the scroll down function. Iíve never liked that feature and have been meaning to change the whole format to a standard web comic page, where one comic is featured and navigation would be easier (previous, forward and a button to go back to the beginning) Iíve been putting it off, because Iím afraid of screwing up the entire blog (Iím a chickensit!)

While Iíve been posting for four years my daily hits/readers are EXTREMELY small (Iím lucky to get 10 hits a day) and am hoping to get more readers. If anything, I love making people laugh, think, etcÖ and would really enjoy a larger audience.

alexisflower: Thanks for your feedback too. Once I finally take the plunge and change the format of the blog those mouse-over banners will be gone Smile

In this comic, I drew my annual selection of the 10 Best Films I saw the previous year (see if you can guess them) http://www.theblabbingbaboon.com/?p=4676
and a few days later I posted the 6 Worst Films http://www.theblabbingbaboon.com/?p=4705

Here's a comic that was inspired by something cartoonist Donna Barr wrote on Facebook: http://www.theblabbingbaboon.com/?p=4826[/b]
