Hiding comics worked for a while, and it's stopped again... I don't know, should I just make a new account and hope it works? |

|
|
I've been sifting through the info here and worked out that I need to add an html comment with the last update date to get the list to recognize updates. Looks like it needs to be dd/mm/yyyy.
Was wondering if anyone knows of a way of coding that in a Blogger template. I know that Blogger has all sorts of tags that you can embed in your template but wasn't sure if there was something appropriate for this situation.
Anyone attempted this? Or should I just resign myself to updating the date every few days? |

I'm completely sure if this is the right place to post this, but a topic I started in the Dogpile section of the forum looking for a new artist and guest comics seems to have disapeared. _________________ A Game of Fools - Updates Monday and Thursday |

Do you have topic reply notifications turned on? If so, you can resurrect the thread by viewing it through of those emails and then replying to it.
Basically, what happens, as far as we can tell, is that somebody goes to reply to a thread and between starting to write a message and hitting Submit they get logged out, this causes the post to be a guest post, which shouldn't be possible. The forum freaks out and the whole thing becomes invisible.
The only way to bring a thread like this back is if you have a direct link to the thread in question. As long as you know what the thread's address, or the address of one of the posts is you can then reply to the thread making it visible again.
For that reason only I have a folder containing one notification email for every thread I've posted in. That way if they get hidden I can bring them back. _________________

|
|
Hey folks,
I'm doomed... Both of my sites www.sarahburrini.com and www.sarahburrini.com/en got hacked. It's a nasty javascript iframe virus/worm which infected most of my php-files.
I didn't backup because I'm an idiot and I don't understand the Wordpress forums advice on this...
So, I have to rebuild everything...*Sigh* I'm devasteted.
Can you please help me out with some stuff?
1.) I've got the hacked database of my site. Does anyone know how to retrieve all the TEXTS I've written (e.g. on the About The Webcomic Site ecc.). Or are they forever lost?
2.) I've re -uploaded my comics on the english site but suddenly there much SMALLER than original size. Does anyony know where the problem is?
Back-up!! Always back-up, my friends! _________________ http://www.lifeaintnoponyfarm.com |

Sympathies!
Looks like your .jpg files are being scaled down:
Business Plans - 962px × 384px (scaled to 560px × 224px)
Comicfestival Day 4 - 962px × 726px (scaled to 560px × 423px)
I think I've seen threads in the Webcomics Gubbins forum about this... something like an option under Comicpress > Config that controls the size of the comic. Try posting in that forum if you haven't already. _________________ |

This isn't so much a problem as a usability request.
Would it be possible to add filtering by year. I.E., you can currently view all comics within a genre, but do the same by when the comic was first added to the list. Then within both of that category (like genre), have it be possible to show all comics by rank instead of alphabetical order.
Thanks for providing a great service.

At the moment the forum is coming up as Phpbb forum, with no sidebar to the site or comics or anything....

Nope, not just you.
We had to perform an emergency upgrade last night to fight off a spambot attack. Ash is on holiday though, so he could only fix the most important stuff.
Everything will be changed back to normal appearance as soon as he's back home. _________________

Could there possibly be a more exciting way to spend a Saturday night than upgrading a message board?!
The main TWCL site is still there, and the latest comics list is still happily updating.
Only thing I can't do is edit my profile, clicking on Profile goes to the wrong place. Eh, no biggie, just saying in case there's something obvious I'm missing. _________________ |

In thewebcomiclist.com home page (not the forum), when you click "Webcomic News" and then click the link to "Submit News," an error message always comes up.
What's with that? I know that no news is good news, but... I have some news to submit. _________________ Joe Chiappetta - Read Silly Daddy comics at http://sillydaddy.net
